The art relating to itself.

Let’s see Paul Allen’s card.

If you consider the weaponization of the postmodernist movement as in the dishonest assessment latter done to the movement as a way to delegitimize and discourage history revisionism and the questioning of the credibility of media and it’s portrait of world events. This dishonest assessment was also intentionally done as a way to deprive the public to develop the healthy thought process and habit of deconstruction, which would lead to pondering rather than action. By inverting the original idea of the deconstruction, from encouraging thought process and opening up possibilities due to endless ramifications of knowledge and turning deconstruction to a restrictive process that comes to one desired and dishonest action. I would rather make a new category rather than perpetuating this misleading idea of what is postmodernism but, let’s say that postmodernism got a new meaning due to the lack of understanding of what it truly is by the general public.

Today we have a postmodernist mainstream art movement, in the sense that the events portrayed are referencing themselves which loses posterity of it’s message or any educational purposes due to it’s meaning becoming lost in the trivialities of the zeitgeist, as if the audience had to follow strictly the trends to be fully aware of it’s message and the world history stopped and become a synthesized version of it, with people relating to many forms of media in their daily lives as if what is portrayed occurred. Is that somehow a curse of the professional artist? Plain disingenuity? Innocent me, thinking that this wasn’t done on purpose. The audience and it’s reception as the totality of reality, in loop, the world events as a fabricated reality, a world wide plato’s cave allegory, a post reality world indeed.

Without considering the epistemological merit or formation of ideas, isn’t this meta-relation of the contemporary art a sort of lack of authenticity and natural quality that is causing an arrested development of the audience and thus the world? Artists creating art pieces of things they experienced trough consuming other people’s art pieces, as if an artist not experience what he is portraying wasn’t bad enough. Maybe to progress, we need a new school of thought and come up with new terms so a bettering of the discourse happens, making it distinctive and assertive the ideas presented since postmodernism isn’t the same as “post reality” and deconstruction isn’t related to taking action. With artificial intelligence tools, not only art will change as I can see that even our future public figures won’t be necessarily physical since a conglomerate of hidden people dictates the thoughts of leaders and the content of the art and having fully automated leaders animated by AI or a piece of art fully dictated by the powerful would facilitate reducing many human proxies that could rebel against the desired messages.
